Why We Chose to Move New Works Project to Arkansas

As New Works Project continues to evolve, we’ve always prioritized making decisions that best support our mission and community. Recently, we made a significant change: moving our organization’s headquarters from Washington to Arkansas. We wanted to share the reasons behind this move and why it’s a positive step forward for our organization and the community we serve.

Why the Move?

One of the primary factors driving our decision to relocate was the realization that none of our leadership or staff reside in Washington. Operating an organization with a physical presence in a state where no one from our team is located presented numerous challenges. It became clear that maintaining a business location in Washington was not only unnecessary but also a strain on our resources.

In our efforts to allocate our budget efficiently and maximize the impact of every dollar, we evaluated the costs associated with retaining a business space in Washington. It quickly became apparent that relocating would allow us to reduce expenses significantly. By moving our headquarters to Arkansas, we’re better positioned to invest in what truly matters—our community, our programs, and the artists we serve.

What Does This Mean for You?

We’re thrilled to announce that the move is now complete, and with it comes a wave of exciting changes that will benefit everyone connected to New Works Project. This transition allows us to streamline our operations, making us more agile and responsive to the needs of our community. Additionally, the cost savings we’ve achieved will be reinvested into our programming, enhancing the opportunities we can offer to composers, performers, and audience members alike.

Arkansas presents a unique landscape for creativity, collaboration, and growth. The state’s rich cultural heritage and vibrant, growing arts scene provide fertile ground for us to continue expanding our mission. We’re excited to be part of this community and look forward to bringing new initiatives, events, and opportunities to our members in Arkansas and beyond.

Looking Ahead

As we settle into our new home, we remain committed to the values that have always guided us. Our move to Arkansas is not just about a change in location—it’s about positioning ourselves for growth, sustainability, and a stronger connection with the people we serve. We’re eager to share the next chapter of our journey with you and to continue building a diverse and inclusive music ecosystem that empowers artists across all disciplines.

Thank you for being a part of the New Works Project community. We’re excited about the future and all that we will achieve together from our new home in Arkansas. Stay tuned for updates on the exciting developments we have in store!
