How to Participate in a Consortium with New Works Project

Joining a consortium with New Works Project is an exciting way to be part of the creation of new music, connect with composers and fellow musicians, and contribute to the growth of our musical community. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get started:

1. Select a Consortium

  • Start by visiting our Open Consortiums page on the New Works Project website. Here, you’ll find a list of active consortiums, each offering a unique opportunity to collaborate on new music.

  • Choose the consortium that aligns with your interests, whether it's for a specific instrument, ensemble, or style.

2. Complete Your Payment and Registration

  • Once you’ve selected your consortium, proceed to the payment and registration form.

  • This step is simple and secure, ensuring that your spot in the consortium is reserved.

3. Receive Confirmation and Access

  • After submitting your registration, the New Works Project staff will process your information and provide you with a confirmation usually within one business day.

  • Along with your confirmation, you’ll receive access to the digital collaboration space, dedicated to your consortium project. This is where the magic happens!

4. Engage in the Digital Collaboration Space

  • Introduce yourself to the other consortium members in the collaboration space. This is your hub for updates, discussions, and direct communication with the composer & the NWP team about this project.

  • Check this space regularly for news on the piece's progress, opportunities to provide input, and chances to connect with other musicians involved in the project.

5. Share Your Performance & Feedback

  • Once the piece is delivered, return to the collaboration space to share your performance videos and feedback.

  • This is a fantastic way to celebrate the culmination of your collective effort, showcase your interpretation of the piece, and inspire others in the community.

By following these steps, you’ll not only contribute to the creation of new music but also build lasting connections within our community. Participating in a consortium is more than just a commitment to the creation of new music—it’s a collaborative journey that enriches your musical experience and helps shape the future of music.

We look forward to seeing you in our next consortiums!
